The fires of this year hit many hard. Due to the proximity of the fires in L.A. many here know someone, or were themselves impacted. Generations of history, architecture, community and personal treasures were destroyed. Please join us in supporting families who survived the Eaton Fires with some joy of the holiday they celebrate this season.
As winter approaches, many in Altadena are preparing for their first holiday season after losing everything—including cherished, often irreplaceable, ornaments.
A small group of fire survivors is coming together to bring a little light to this difficult season. At the upcoming Winter Bloom and Plant Material Holiday Markets, we will create displays where people can choose a special ornament (or hopefully several!) to take home.
Here’s how you can help!
We’re looking for donated ornaments, stars, menorahs and kinaras – vintage, meaningful, handcrafted, or uniquely beautiful. If possible, please include a short note sharing its story, or why you picked it or them. That personal touch can bring extra comfort and connection.

From November 6–9, downtown Palm Springs transforms into a colorful festival of music, entertainment, and LGBTQ+ pride. • Thursday, Nov 6 – Latin Pride on Arenas Road kicks off the celebration with music, dancing, and culture. • Friday, Nov 7 – Arenas District Pride Kick-Off sets the tone for a weekend of festivities. • Saturday, Nov 8 – The Pride Festival takes over multiple open-air venues with live performances, exhibitors, and community gatherings. • Sunday, Nov 9 – The festival continues, culminating in the Pride Parade, a dazzling display of unity and pride. This FREE and open-to-the-public event invites everyone to sip, sashay, and celebrate in the heart of Palm Springs. Join us as we honor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future of our LGBTQ+ community!

CMG-DC Bowl-a-rama ’25
In the midst of the seasons, we welcome you to come join a community of men hosted by The California Men’s Gatherings- Desert Cities Chapter. Take a little time to step away from the brunches , parties, fundraisers and busy days to relax with the guys and throw a few lines of bowling.
You will get to bowl from 10-1 with shoes included at a random lane.
Want to BYOB? Bring Your Own Buddies? Get your own lane and you can have up to 5 bowlers.
The Lanes will provide a starter nibble to each table, and they will be offering their full menu including sodas for purchase. The bar will be available for alcoholic options.
$25 – One seat at a lane with shoes included, bowling for 2.5 hours
$150 – One lane with Up to 4 of your friends, shoes included, bowling for 2.5 hours
