Summer Gathering 2023 – September 15-18, 2023!

Life without imagination can seem routine and mundane. The absence of imagination robs us of the desire, pleasure, and community that require imagination. At this gathering, we will cultivate imagination to help each other discover how acceptance beyond tolerance can bring us freedom and greater love. What constitutes desire, pleasure, and community for you is a question of self-discovery, an exploration that spans a lifetime. Explore how imagination can reframe how you experience these fundamental human needs
A Call for all alumni of CMG Summers at Camp Newman to return and reunite.
1 month after our Labor day weekend gathering in 2017 (our 14th at the location), our beloved Camp Newman was effectively destroyed by the Tubbs wildfire. Losses to property were tremendous but not lost or forgotten was the love we have for this place and the joy it brought so many men in the CMG. The memories of this place are so poignant that a focus group told us that coming back to Camp Newman was more important than any other factor. Under this direction, we have secured a weekend for the Summer Gathering (in the last week of Summer).

We have worked to make this experience the most amazing return to a beloved home while also keeping costs in check. After a $40 million rebuild of the camp, the facilities feel more like a conference center than a summer camp. Most community spaces and many accommodations include adjoining outdoor spaces with walls that open to the outside and large bright windows. The dining hall now seats 500 with outdoor seating for 200. Community Spaces include state of the art audiovisual systems with either a video wall or an 85″ television both visible in full sunlight. Recently completed is The Lodge, a new 28 room upscale hotel, with 1 or 2 full queen sized hotel beds with private baths, refrigerator, microwave and Keurig. Also among the upgrades is Chef Danny who is a seasoned chef from fine dining to movie/tv productions. His cuisine has always been inspired by the warmth of meals that represent his experiences as a participant and staff member at Camp Newman before he left to attend culinary school.
