Semi-Private Rooms
We have access currently to 6 smaller, semi-private rooms (SP) that can be reserved, usually for a pair. Thus, there are 12 upgraded registrations available. Each room has two bunkbeds where, most commonly, only the bottom bunks are used (more people can request semi-private if you would like to use the top bunks, too). These rooms are an extra $400 which, split between two men, means a $200 upgrade price for each at the time of registration.
For a few men who really want to treat themselves, the special little Excalibur cabin has just two rooms with no bunk beds. Excalibur renters get a semi-private bathroom/shower, plus pillows, towels, linens, and blankets. This option, the nicest accommodations at camp, is $600 for the weekend, typically split as a $300 upgrade per man. One of the Excalibur rooms has queen sized beds; the other is twins.
You are not required to have an intended roommate in order to pay your upgrade fee; we can assign a roommate to you who has also paid for an upgrade without naming a roommate.
If you do know who your intended roommate is, there is a place for you each to list this during online registration. Please note, though, that the upgraded rooms almost always sell out and we cannot hold the second bed for your friend/partner if the sixteen slots all sell out before he registers. Thus, we recommend you sign up on the same day and you must BOTH request each other as a roommate.
If you come as a pair and choose to bring a third or fourth man to make your cost even lower, that’s fine by us if you want to make use of the top bunks that way. But the first two each pay the upgrade and then you work out making it even between you all. Likewise if someone would like to share a bed in Excalibur, you could get three or four in that room. We do request that if you bring a third or fourth into that room, let the registrar know. This is important because doing so opens up another bed in camp and that could make a difference if we sell out.
The bunkhouses and meeting spaces at Pathfinder Ranch are all one big circle, so the locations of the SP rooms are equally convenient to standard rooms in terms of access.
SP rooms share the common bathrooms of their building; they do not have a private bathroom.
At this time, we will not be allowing one man to book a room solely to himself for the full room cost. If that is something you would be interested in, drop a note to the registrar and, on the off-chance that the SP rooms do not sell out, we will contact you.
NOTE: Housing upgrades are part of your registration; do not click anything on this page (like a “Donate” button) expecting that will affect your registration. 😉
