At the CMG variety show, perfection is not the goal; sharing the joy/gift of something you’ve planned for our stage is! Sing…dance…act…read (if you wrote it)! The variety show is a celebration of our communities talents and delights. Show respect for your audience by doing something you’ve rehearsed some; if you’re doing YOUR best, that’s all we need to know. 🙂
Although you can fill out the form by hand, we encourage you not to wait for someone to rope you into performing something you haven’t practiced, thought through, and maybe even costumed. When you do it by hand at the last minute, it often feels that way. So, thank you for coming here to create your super-legible, exquisitely-worded submission with its intro and act details.
If you CAN open the .docx Word document via the green button below, fill it out such that it all fits on one page (in a human-readable sized font). Then print it and bring it with you. If you are more comfortable in GoogleDocs or another editor, you can also copy the .docx contents there and create your page to print there; just make it fit on one page.
If you CAN’T open or use the .docx file, click here for a PDF version to print and fill out clearly by hand.
Either way, you can turn your printed form in at the check-in table upon arriving.
You’ll find out shortly before the show what position you’re in. If you have a REALLY good reason to request early/middle/late in the show, you can put in your request, but we appreciate as many as possible who don’t do so…allowing us to balance the show as best we can.
NOTE: If your act needs background music, you must supply it by a method below; we don’t have a keyboardist for you.
−−− 1) BEST CHOICE: We can best support .wav and .mp3 files sent in advance and/or brought on flash drive.
−−− 2) SECOND BEST: We SHOULD be able to support CDs.
−−− 3) WAY THIRD BEST: We are willing to try to play directly off your phone but you’ll have to give the tech manager you password info because 99% likely, your phone will go dark between giving your phone and your time on stage.
−−− x) NOT ACCEPTED: Streaming, because the internet is not reliable enough at camp.
