|BACK FOR A SEVENTH FANTASTIC YEAR:
CMG Short Film Festival 2018
Now in its seventh year, CMG SHORT FILM FESTIVAL will screen four programs of short films on Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and 7, at the beautiful West Hollywood City Council Chambers (625 N. San Vicente Blvd, West Hollywood 90069). As always, the Festival is an all-proceeds benefit for AIDS Walk Los Angeles.
As in the past, most of the films screened will be LGBTQ themed. “We have looked at hundreds of films to come up with these programs,” says Festival Director Jim Hoffman, “and we are proud of the programs that have emerged from the process.” The sources of these films include Outfest and Frameline, the two largest LGBTQ film festivals, but we also draw from an extensive network of filmmakers and talent submitting through the Film Freeway submission platform.
Screening times for the four programs are 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. This year, we are once again fortunate to have an excellent venue for our CLOSING NIGHT PARTY, which starts shortly after the last program screens at the Council Chambers. The party will be at THE GYM sports bar, at 8737 Santa Monica Blvd, about three blocks east of San Vicente. A fifth program of films will be shown, FREE OF CHARGE to all who attend.
This program is presented in part with the support of the City of West Hollywood’s Arts Division. Because the City of West Hollywood is a co-sponsor, patrons and guests of the Festival enjoy FREE PARKING in the 5-story City Parking Structure adjacent to the Festival. If CMG is new to you, a local event like the one above is a great way to find out about the California Men’s Gatherings and the many wonderful men who get involved. Since 1978, CMG has been a place where all men — gay, bi, trans, and straight, from 18-80+ can find a different way to connect. While attendees of CMG events and retreats are predominately gay and bisexual, all men 18 years or older are welcome.
